Tennessee Hills Distillery Selects Creative Energy as Agency of Record

David Brashears

Jonesborough-based distillery, Tennessee Hills Distillery, has selected Creative Energy—a full-service marketing and advertising firm as its agency of record. The agency has a long and proven history of success in the food and beverage industry. The decision is expected to enhance the growing distiller’s brand awareness and market share.

“The craft spirits segment continues to grow and the focus will be to build a preferred brand within the niche across the state and region,” says Creative Energy President and CEO, Tony Treadway. “When I first had the opportunity to speak with Stephen Callahan about his vision for Tennessee Hills Distillery and the authentic roots of his brand I knew that we would be a great fit. Stephen has a passion to build a great spirits brand in our region, and we are excited to be a part of that process.”

“I’ve been impressed with the work Creative Energy has done for other food and beverage brands. My vision for the future of this brand is shared by them. I’m looking forward to seeing what the future will bring for my company with their assistance,” says distillery founder Stephen Callahan.

Tennessee Hills Distillery opened their doors in 2014 and has been growing their reputation for crafting quality small batch bourbons, gins, vodkas, rums, and specialty spirits ever since.  The company is based in the old Salt House building in Tennessee’s oldest town. In just a few months, the distillery has become a top tourist attraction for visitors to the region.  The distillery hosts open hours throughout the week where visitors enjoy a free tour and tastings while enjoying the rich storytelling of Stephen and his team in a town known for the National Storytelling Festival.

Tennessee Hills Distillery products are grown and sourced from Tennessee farmers. The grain is stone ground to secure the proven consistency of their products. Stephen personally oversees every step in the distilling process. He even hand built the first still he used to create his spirits to ensure the process would support the uncompromising quality of every bottle. Their newest larger capacity still was built in collaboration with Cold Springs Copper Works, based in Greene County, TN—continuing the tradition of keeping every aspect of Tennessee Hills Distillery close to their mountain home.

“I’ve been passionate about distilling my whole life,” says Tennessee Hills Distillery owner, Stephen Callahan.  “It’s never been an option for me to cut corners or do anything halfway.  Our goal is to make the very best products we can right here where we call home.  I love meeting locals who are excited about what we are doing and hear their stories about the long proud history of liquor that came out of these hills.

From their S.E. Callahan Bourbon to Hellcat Gin, Spitfire Vodka, Angry Pecker Rum, Lemon Drop, and many other options, Tennessee Hills Distillery has a handcrafted small batch spirit to match any palate or occasion.  It can be found at local bars and liquor stores, so try a bottle this week and support local brands with a passion for the mountains of East Tennessee.  To learn more, visit www.tnhillsdistillery.com
